expensive instruments. You'll be surprised to see that normal people like
us can also enjoy skiing as a recreational activity as well as an
adventure sport.
In Gulmarg you don't have to wear heavy woolen clothes as simple clothes
will do just fine for you. There are gentle slopes as well so you can call
the place a beginner's paradise as far as skiing is concerned.
Auli,
Garhwal
The place offers you a 180 degrees view of the Himalayan peaks around
such as Nanda Devi, Kamet, Mana Parvat, Dunagiri which seem to be just a
stone's throw away. The slopes here are just right for excellent skiing
opportunities.
Dayara Bugyal, Garhwal
The place provides about 28 sq km of unhindered slopes for you to zip
pass the snow and after getting tired, you can easily savour the panoramic
view of the Himalayas.
Mundali, Garhwal
Here again you get access to vast slopes where professionals can enjoy
themselves while skiing as well as with the views of the place.
Munsiyari, Kumaon
The place is the centre and the gateway of the Johar region. You can
treat the place as your base camp while you trek to Milam, Namik and Ralam
glaciers. The two high altitude places that offer you excellent
opportunities for skiing are Khalia Top and Betulidhar.
Himachal Pradesh
The Manali region here offers you skiing opportunities in winter as well
as in summers. The summer skiing usually takes place in Narakanda.
