Chowrastha which means the meeting place of four roads is the heart of the town. It is a thrilling place presenting an amazing view of the Kanchenjunga mountain where the visitors can relax and take a walk.

Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park
It is the only zoo in the world which has successfully bred the Tibetan wolf and one of the few zoological parks in Asia to breed the snow leopard and the Siberian tiger. It is an important place for fauna aficionados to catch a glimpse of some rare animals.

Himalayan Mountaineering Institute
The adventure seekers can a have a thrilling ascent up the Himalayan mountains at the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute. It is one of the main tourist attractions in Darjeeling.

Darjeeling-Rangeet Valley Passenger Ropeway
The largest bi-cable passenger carrying rope way in Asia which connects Darjeeling with Bijanbari in the Rangeet valley presents an exalting view of the beautiful tea gardens of Darjeeling.

Some of the other places of interest are the Natural History Museum, Shrubbery Park, Observatory Hill, Tiger Hill, Lover's Road and the Happy Valley Tea Garden.

The climate of Darjeeling is temperate with the weather remaining cool and dry. The rainy season lasts from June to September. The winter is dry and snowfall is rare. The best season to visit Darjeeling is between April and June when the weather generally remains clear letting the tourists enjoy the scenic beauty of the place.

How to Reach Darjeeling
By Air : There are regular flights connecting Darjeeling to Bagdogra which is the nearest airport situated at a distance of about 95 km. from Darjeeling. Tourists can get a bus or taxi cab from Bagdogra to Darjeeling. Another option is to move towards Siliguri and get a taxi from there.

By Train : The nearest railway station is New Jalpaiguri which is about 88 km. from Darjeeling. It connects with all the major cities of India including Kolkata, Delhi, Guwahati, Varanasi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Chennai. From New Jalpaiguri one can take a taxi to reach Darjeeling.

By Road : By road, Darjeeling is connected to Sikkim, Nepal, Bhutan etc. One can have access to Darjeeling from Siliguri which is connected to all the major cities of the country.
