Climate in Himachal Pradesh

dry weather. During summers the weather remains fairly cool while in the
winters it can get extremely cold. The upper reaches of the state receive
heavy snowfall during the winter months and are inaccessible to the
tourists during that period. The best time to visit Himachal are the
months of May-June if you want to escape the scorching Indian heat and the
months of December-January if you would like to see the flakes of snow
falling from the sky.
Culture of Himachal Pardesh
The population of Himachal cosists mainly of Hindus who constitute about
90% of the total population of the state. The art and craft of Himachal
Pradesh are very famous and the emroidered caps of Kullu and the Himachali
shawl are a must buy for tourists from all over. The dying and printing of
fabrics using traditional colors is also a speciality of the people of
this place. Traditional dances, which are accompanied by music from
conventional musical instuments performed in the state, are mainly a way
to impress the Gods. A variety of festivals are celebrated in the state
throughout the year to mark different occasions.
How to reach Himachal Pradesh?
By Air : There are three airports in Himachal Pradesh
situated at Bhuntar, Gaggal and Jubbarhatti which connect it to Delhi and
Chandigarh. There are no international airports in the state.
By Train : The railway network in the state is not very
well developed owing to the high altitude. Shimla is connected to Kalka
which connects the state to the rest of the country.
By Road : All the main places in the state are
accessible by roads. Some of the roads get closed due to snowfall or
landslides. The tourists can take buses or taxis which are a main source
of transportation.
