Pokhara

Daman
Situated to the southwest of Kathmandu, Daman presents the visitors with
the most lavish view of the Himalayas. It is situated at an altitude of
about 2,322 m above sea level.
Other tourist spots in the country include Biratnagar, Birganj, Janakpur,
Nepaulgaunj, Mahendranagar, Bodhnath, Dakshinkali, Hanuman Dhoka, Koshi
Tappu Wildlife Reserve and the Royal Chitwan National Park.

Climate in Nepal
Nepal's weather is generally foreseeable and dulcet. There are four
seasons of spring, summer, autumn and winter. The monsoon season begins in
the last of June and lasts till mid-September when most of the rainfall
takes place in Nepal. The winter temperatures can drop to bone chilling
levels and there is generally heavy snowfall. The temperatures in the
capital city of Kathmandu range from 19-27 degrees Celsius in summer and
2-20 degrees Celsius during winters. Nepal can be visited throughout the
year.
Culture and Festivals of Nepal
The Kingdom of Nepal is bordered by Tibet in the north and India in the
south, the impact of which can be clearly seen on the Nepali culture.
About 90% of the population of Nepal is made up of Hindus and the rest
consists of Buddhists, Muslims and others.
More than a hundred languages are registered in Nepal as mother tongues.
Dasain, which involves animal sacrifice is the most important festival in
Nepal. Other festivals like the Tihar festival and the Chaitra Dasain are
also celebrated along with Hindu festivals of Holi, Haribodhini Ekadashi
and Mahashivratri. The colorful masked dances accompanied by music from
local musical instruments add much charm to the place.
How to Reach Nepal?
By Air : The only international airport in Nepal is
the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. One may have to change
flights as very few international flights operate directly to Nepal.
Another option is to move to India from where Nepal can be easily accessed
by air.
By Road : Regular buses operate between Nepal and India
which are very popular among the travellers visiting Nepal. There are
different routes to Nepal from India. The sunauli border is convenient for
those coming from Delhi or Varanasi, the Birganj crossing is used by
people coming from Calcutta and Kakarbhitta is the obvious choice for
people coming in from Darjeeling. You could choose from these depending
upon where in India you are coming from.
